Happy Fall Season, Testimonials

Happy Fall everyone, the quintessential fall weather is here...cool, crisp autumn breezes with leaves falling all around us.  Just gorgeous.

I know, I know it's been a while since I've blogged; it's getting to the point where I may need to have some help with all of my social media - there's Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Tumbler.  The opportunities to get "the word out" are truly endless.  We all would like to take of advantage of that, right?

One of the things I'd like to pass along are what WholeyOats customers have been saying this past week.

Alice of NYC said "I have been purchasing your granola all summer long at the Cornwall, CT Farmer's Market and I am totally addicted...I  have to some!"

Jocelyn of MASS said "I purchased your granola at the Millerton Farmer's Market and I am hooked, it is the best granola I have ever tasted.  I am planning to order tons and get everyone I know hooked on it too!"

Dan of Tarrytown said "Pattie you make a truly wonderful product, I want to help you get it out to as many people as possible".

Jane of WillowBrook Farms "Ivana Trump was in and bought your Blueberry Almond Granola Bars".

Wow, thanks to those that take the time to tell me what they think of my granola and granola bars.  I really do appreciate all comments.

Where is WholeyOats this weekend:

Friday, October 12 - Amenia Farmer's Market - 3:00-7:00 - This is the last outdoor
market.  We will be indoors for the Winter Market starting November 3rd.
**NOTE:  WholeyOats will not be at the Winter Market until November 17th

Saturday, October 13 - Millerton Farmer's Market - 9:00-1:00

Have a wonderful weekend, I hope to see you at one of the Farmer's Markets.

Best,
Pattie

Hot Fun in the Summertime....

It's a scorcher out there today but that will not keep WholeyOats from the Amenia Farmer's Market.  We will be there starting at 3:00 until around 7:00.

What else is on tap for WholeyOats this weekend?   Tomorrow we will be at the Pawling Farmer's Market from 9:00-12:00 and the Millerton Farmer's Market from 9:00-1:00.  As for Sunday, that's the day I like to call my own.  We are planning a family outing up to Copake Falls.  A beautiful spot to spend a warm summer day.

What are you planning to do this weekend?  Hopefully on your list is a trip to one of the Farmer's Markets.  If it is, please stop by and say hi.

Have a great weekend,
Pattie

Summer Days Are Here....Farmer's Markets Filled w/ Great Food & Fun

Summer is here with all its warmth, long days and lots of gatherings with loved ones.  I do love this time of year, although not my favorite, I still enjoy it immensely.  I grew up living on a lake, so as you can imagine as a child I enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing, canoeing, catching frogs or swimming all day into the evening hours with family and friends.  Those days may have past, but the memories live on in my heart so I have tried as much as possible to extend those experiences to my children who also enjoy the outdoors.

I guess what I am trying to say here is even though it is going to be a typical "summer-like" weekend, with warmer then ever temps, still get out and enjoy.  Start early with swinging by the Farmer's Markets this weekend.  They start early and end early so we can all take part in enjoying this fantastic time of year.

WholeyOats will be attending three Farmer's Markets this weekend.  We start today at the Amenia Farmer's Market on Rte. 22 in Amenia, hours are 3:00-7:00.  Stop by, the food offerings are excellent and there is always time for great conversation.

Tomorrow we are making our debut at the Pawling Farmer's Market held from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. right in the center of town, Pawling, New York.  We are certainly looking forward to trying somewhere new and meeting some new WholeyOats customers.

And, as always we will be at the Millerton Farmer's Market tomorrow which is held from 9:00a.m.-1:00p.m. in its fabulous new location right across from the rail trail in Millerton, New York.

So wherever you may be spending this weekend, I hope that you spend a little bit of it with us.  It's always a pleasure visiting with you.

Have a great weekend,
Pattie

Time to try something new......

Happy Friday, Happy beautiful June day......we've got gorgeous weather heading our way for a bit, wow haven't seen a forecast like this in quite some time.  Knowing that just fills me with so much anticipation of doing & creating.

WholeyOats has been working overtime in the kitchen baking fresh granola & granola bars for your enjoyment and healthy life (mine too!).  As some of you know, I have been considering the idea of expanding my horizons into other venues.  With that said, this Saturday, June 16th, WholeyOats will be making its debut at the Millbrook Farmer's Market.   I will be there from 9:00-1:00.  Millbrook is another great Saturday Farmer's Market in the Hudson Valley that has a lovely town and community.  I am looking forward to meeting some new folks and introducing them to my wonderful granolas.

Now hold on, don't worry I will still be at the Millerton Farmer's Market on Saturday morning....well maybe not me, Pattie, personally, but someone just as nice and a whole lot cuter...my son Gregory.  He is well versed in all things WholeyOats and has a killer smiler.  So make sure to stop by and say hello, he loves to chat.  Looking forward to a great day at Millerton, as always there will be music and lots of food to eat!

Today, don't forget if you are heading out between 3:00-7:00, the Amenia Farmer's Market will be taking place right off Rte. 22 in the Town Hall parking lot.  We will be there with lots of other wonderful vendors and tons of great food.  Come and enjoy.

Best,
Pattie

A New Season is Here - Amenia Farmer's Market

A new season for the Amenia Farmer's Market is beginning today at 3:00 p.m. at the Amenia Town Hall parking lot.  The Amenia Farmer's Market began the summer of 2010, the year WholeyOats began as well.  The past two years have been such a great learning experience.   I have met so many wonderful people, made some really great new friends, and have learned so much about myself.  One thing I learned for sure is that it is never too late to do what you love and realize your dreams.   Thanks to all of you I am able to continue doing what I love and share it with everyone.

WholeyOats is branching out a bit for the 2012 season with a few different markets and events.  With a little help from my friends, it looks like WholeyOats will be able to be in a couple of different places at the same time.  I can't tell you how thankful I am for that.  Today WholeyOats will be at the Amenia Farmer's Market from 3:00-7:00p.m.   Tomorrow, May 19th, I will be at the Norfolk Farmer's Market in Norfolk, CT.  The location is 19 Maple Avenue, located right on "the green" in front of Town Hall from 10:00-1:00.  I am so looking forward to trying a new event, meeting new people and seeing new faces.  In June and July WholeyOats will be popping up at a couple of new locations, stay tuned to find out where I will be.

So here we are, it's Friday May 18th and at 3:00 p.m. today WholeyOats along with lots of other wonderful vendors will be welcoming you to the Amenia Farmer's Market.  I will have the usual line up of fresh, hand baked, good for you, all natural, preservative free granola and granola bars.

It's a beautiful day, come by, say Hi, eat some really great food and enjoy.  I can't wait to see you!

Testing Out A New Granola Bar

Hello Everyone & Happy Saturday morning to you.   Lots of goings on in the WholeyOats kitchen during the past couple of weeks.  I have been in the process of developing a new granola bar.  This idea of coming up with something savory & sweet has been on my mind for quite some time.  Well folks here it is, making it's debut today at the market AND to boot it is husband, kid, & girlfriend taste test approved.  Enough said, right?!  I will be selling them as individual bars, $2.00 each.

On the home front, we have a new puppy.  We found him through an organization called "A New Chance Rescue" started by a teenage girl in Bedford Hills, NY.  Wonderful family and organization that is helping dogs find a good home.  We found Ollie, he is a golden retriever/great pyrenees mix....needless to say he is going to be a BIG BOY.  Right now he is an adorable, clumsy, chewing (patience everyone) pup who is just so lovable.  I may bring him to the market this summer so you can meet him.  Our yellow lab Ginger is enjoying him as well, thank goodness because she will be 9 years old this August and she is undoubtedly the "queen" of our home.

It's going to be a beautiful Spring day, so come out to the Millerton Farmer's Market today.  We will be indoors at Gilmor Glass from 10:00-2:00.

See you later....

What Will You Do With Your Saturday?

As I was driving through Amenia today, the weatherman was on the radio doing the forecast for the weekend.   I couldn't help but hear the joy in his voice while announcing that there would be sun and warm temps for the next week ahead.  Wow, Spring is here for sure.  So I thought, what will I do with my weekend?  The first thing I will be doing is setting up my stand at the Winter Amenia Farmer's Market.  Then I thought what a great way to start the weekend for all the folks in the area.   And guess what I just heard, we are going to be outside, now if that doesn't say the warm weather is here, woohoo!!

I am so excited and filled with anticipation for this upcoming season.  I have begun work on creating a new recipe for a granola bar.  My taste buds are going crazy (as well as my boys & husband) as I try out different variations.  I am thinking savory and sweet for a new granola bar....what do you think?  If you have any ideas, please let me know.  The new bar will make its debut at the onset of the Spring/Summer Market Season in late May.  I will keep you all posted.

Happy Friday to all and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow, 10:00-2:00 at the Amenia Town Hall.

Best,
Pattie

Warmer & Longer Days are here.....Happy Weekend

The saying goes with March "In like a Lion out like a Lamb"?  We have a road trip planned to the Sunshine State at the end of the month, therefore I am hoping March truly exits like a lamb.   Keeping my fingers crossed for that one as this will most likely be our last family vacation for a time due to my son going away to college this upcoming August.  Aaaahh, where does the time go?

I haven't blogged in a few weeks so here's the update on what's new with WholeyOats.  First, this April WholeyOats Granola Bars will be making their debut on the New York City Water Taxis.  If you happen to hail one of these wonderful boats to Manhattan, let me know if you spot WholeyOats.

The Smithy of New Preston, CT will be reopening on March 23rd and will once again carry everything WholeyOats.  Thank you for your support and I look forward to a another fantastic season.

It's looking like a beauty of a weekend, are you wondering what to do?  Here's an idea....Saturday morning get out and enjoy.  Grab a cup of tea or coffee, take a walk through the town of Millerton and while you are doing that, come in to Gilmor Glass and see all of the vendors at the Millerton Farmer's Market.  The Market is having a "March Madness" raffle which includes lots of products donated by each of the vendors....included is a bag of WholeyOats Granola Bars, yum.  We are there from 10:00-2:00, I hope you will be there too!

A great weekend to you all....
Pattie

It's Millerton Farmer's Market Time-What Might You Find There?

Hi All,
Here's wishing you are having a wonderful Friday....what a beauty of a day.  Apparently we are going to get some snow tomorrow.  It seems everyone is prepared this time, I'm thinking the roads will be fine and I will be making my way up to the Farmer's Market tomorrow.  I will be there from 10:00-2:00 along with several others.  What might you find tomorrow at the Millerton Farmer's Market?   Coco's Crumbs with her wonderful baked goods, Marilyn has the best chutneys and pickled dills, Hawk Dance Farm will have their beautiful beeswax candles, Perry Hill Farm with all of Vicki's wonderful soaps, Berkshire Mountain Bakery's breads, locally raised fish and greens, and more.

I know it has been a while since you have seen me at the Millerton Market, so come on out and visit.  Watch the glassblowers at Gilmor develop those wonderful creations, chat with your favorite granola baker (me), and take a walk around a lovely little town.

Have a wonderful weekend, I look forward to see you.

Best,
Pattie

Farmer's Market Weekend & WholeyOats News

Happy Friday to everyone....I hope this past week proved to be a good one for all.   Some of you have been wondering where I've been the past weeks, well I am happy to say I will be at the Amenia Farmer's Market this Saturday, February 4th.  The location is the Amenia Town Hall, right off of Rte. 22 and the market is open from 10:00-2:00.

So what's been happening in the world of WholeyOats??  Well I have been cranking along working hard to build this business locally and, well "not so" locally.  I was contacted a week or so ago by a business in Brooklyn that is looking to carry WholeyOats granola bars, wow!  Needless to say I was blown away by that, in a good way of course.  I've been approached by a woman's tennis club in Dutchess County that is interested in serving WholeyOats granola bars at their tournaments, woohoo so excited about that one!  It's just when you think things may slow down a bit, it surprises you in many ways.  I am also going to tease a little by saying there is a good sized market in NYC that may be interested in WholeyOats, keep your fingers crossed, I would be "over the moon" if this became a reality and I will make sure you all are the first ones to hear about it.

With that said, I am looking for a bigger kitchen.  It appears I am outgrowing my digs and need to expand, just a little.  I have made the commitment to keep my granola business small ensuring that each and every batch of granola and granola bars are handmade by yours truly, no if's, and's or whatever's - me and only me!  I have heard one too many times how it all changes when other hands are involved and that could not be more true than with baking or cooking.  A bigger kitchen will allow me to do more in the same amount of time, so here's hoping I find something close by as I would like to stay in Wingdale.

That's all for now.  Thanks for reading and I hope to see you tomorrow, I really miss everyone.

What Customers Are Saying About WholeyOats Granola & Granola Bars

Friends, Family, and Customers have been telling me for over a year to post what people are saying about my granola and granola bars.  Overall it appears these folks, along with lots of others, all agree that WholeyOats granola is better than anything they have tasted on the supermarket shelf, greenmarkets, etc.

Here's what a few are saying.......

"And let me say again, this is really a delicious product. I keep tasting granola at greenmarkets and stores hoping to find one I like as much that I could buy one bag at a time nearby and so far, nothing comes close".
Kate D - 1/2012

This past weekend I went to the Holiday Sale in Kinderhook, held by the Columbia County Historical Society. One of the things I picked up was a package of your Blueberry Almond Granola Bars. This morning I had my first taste and loved it.

Thanks so much,
Elizabeth N  - 12/2011

I love your products and usually get them at the smithy in new preston.
Thanks,
Sandra P - 11/2011

I am in LOVE with your granola, especially the fruits and nut. So yummy with Greek yogurt! And the granola bars are to die for especially the chocolate coconut almond. I will be re-ordering some more granola soon but I am almost afraid to keep the granola bars in my house because I ate them all by myself and actually hid them from my kids and husband. I feel like they satisfied my urge for sweets mid-day and they are way healthier than eating cookies or a candy bar.

Best,
Janet M - 11/2011

While in Mt Kisco at the Seafood Store, I came across your
granola - well I am hooked, it is delicious.
Thank you,
Mariann M - 8/2011

A friend tells me that your granola is the best he has ever tasted. I
intend on stopping at Mt. Kisco Seafood on my way home tonight to buy
some.
 Audrey B 9/2011

We will try no to mug you for the chocolate coconut bars!
Many Thanks
